About Us
Welcome to Angusfield Luxury Cabins! I’m Angus MacDonald, and I’m delighted to have you here.
I’ve spent almost my entire life right here on the Isle of Skye. The only time I ever really strayed was for a year over in New Zealand, where I went to trace my mother’s roots—but as beautiful as it was, there’s no place quite like home.
When I’m not busy running the cabins, you’ll usually find me working as a joiner or operating heavy machinery. Those trades have given me the skills to build a life here, but my heart is really in the land.
Skye has shaped everything about who I am. In my downtime, I’m usually:

On the Croft: My family has deep roots here; both sets of my grandparents were raised on crofts, and we keep that tradition alive today with our own small flock of sheep.

On the Pitch: I’m a keen shinty player—it’s a Highland tradition I’m proud to be a part of.

Outdoors: Whether I’m fishing or… well, let’s just say “practicing the age-old art of poaching,” just like my Dad, the John West of Sconser, I’m happiest when I’m out in the fresh air.
This island is my home, and I’m thrilled to share a piece of it with you. I hope you enjoy your stay at Angusfield as much as I enjoy living here!
Angusfield Cabins are located in the heart of the Isle of Skye, offering a great balance of peaceful surroundings while still being close to many of the island’s attractions.
The cabins were designed and built by Angus on family land, a project that began in 2021 and was completed in 2024.
Built with care and attention to detail, they are a brand new addition to the area.
Surrounded by Skye’s beautiful scenery, the cabins combine modern comfort with a warm and cosy feel. It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the views, with nature right on your doorstep.
