Directions
1. From Glasgow
There are two main routes. The “Bridge” route is the standard road link, while the “Ferry” route is a popular scenic alternative.
Option A: Via the Skye Bridge

Take the A82 north through Glencoe to Fort William.

Continue on the A82 north to Invergarry.

Turn left onto the A87 (signposted for Kyle of Lochalsh).

Cross the Skye Bridge and stay on the A87 heading north.
-
Sconser is located directly on the A87, approximately 12 miles north of Broadford.
Option B: Via Mallaig Ferry

Take the A82 to Fort William, then turn left onto the A830 (Road to the Isles) to Mallaig.

Take the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale.
-
From Armadale, follow the A851 north until it meets the A87 at Broadford.

Turn left onto the A87 and continue for about 12 miles to reach Sconser.
Important: If you choose the ferry, you must book in advance via CalMac as vehicle spaces fill up quickly.
2. From Inverness

Follow the A82 south along the side of Loch Ness to Invermoriston.

Turn right onto the A887, which joins the A87 heading west.

Continue on the A87 all the way across the Skye Bridge.

Follow the A87 through Broadford; Sconser is situated on the main road about 15 minutes further north.
3. From Edinburgh

Take the M90 north to Perth, then join the A9 north.

At Dalwhinnie, turn left onto the A889, then join the A86 to Spean Bridge.

Turn right onto the A82 (north) to Invergarry.

Turn left onto the A87 and follow it across the Skye Bridge.

Stay on the A87 through Broadford until you arrive at Sconser.
